BodogFight: St. Petersburg a Prelude to Emelianenko-Lindland Clash

Our hit show on ION has taken viewers to St. Petersburg for some of the fiercest action MMA audiences have seen on TV – and it only gets better with the promotion of “300” and the world’s No. 1 fighter preparing for his April 14 tilt

March 1, 2007

With the BodogFight mixed martial arts series gaining worldwide popularity, Bodog.com Entertainment has unleashed a juggernaut-sized arsenal of MMA content.

Season 2 of our television series BodogFight: St. Petersburg is only three episodes deep but has already delivered on its promise for more brutal elimination battles, behind-the-scenes training, fighter interviews and non-stop action. You can watch it on ION Television on Tuesdays and Saturdays, 11 p.m./10 p.m. Central.

The second season features 28 fighters from America and around the world who compete in St. Petersburg, Russia for a spot in a pay-per-view spectacular on Saturday, April 14. The PPV will feature the world’s top-ranked heavyweight, Fedor Emelianenko, fighting American star Matt Lindland in front of a riveted audience at the ICE Palace in St. Petersburg.

The event – dubbed “BodogFight: Fedor Emelianenko vs. Matt Lindland, Clash of the Nations” – will be a three-hour extravaganza that also includes Fedor's younger brother, Aleksander.

The action doesn't slow down, either. BodogFight has already enlisted a talented roster of athletes for upcoming seasons of the TV show. Fighters from 10 countries have trekked to the exotic Central American jungles of Costa Rica for filming. Among the notable MMA stars who will be involved as guest commentators are Royce Gracie, Josh Barnett and Joe Baroni.

You can watch the first three episodes of BodogFight: St. Petersburg online in streaming video at www.bodogfight.com. Episode 4 premieres Tuesday on ION at 11 p.m./10 p.m. Central (check local listings).

BodogFight Unites With "300"

BodogFight is also pleased to announce its exciting promotion campaign with the upcoming Warner Brothers Pictures' release "300". The film opens nationwide on March 9 and fans of both BodogFight and "300" can look forward to seeing the integration of a trailer from the movie into an episode of "BodogFight: St. Petersburg". There will also be campus screenings at 30-40 colleges across the nation, featuring BodogFight/300 posters as well as Bodog Girls delivering entry cards for an exclusive prize giveaway. Visit the award-winning web site, BodogFight.com, to win a prize package that includes fight training with the trainer from "300", airfare and accommodation, BodogFight gear and $5,000 cash.

Based on the epic graphic novel by Frank Miller ("Sin City"), "300" is a ferocious retelling of the ancient Battle of Thermopylae in which King Leonidas (Gerard Butler) and 300 Spartans fought to the death against Xerxes and his massive Persian Army. The highly anticipated film is a natural fit for BodogFight, home of today's elite warriors.
