Heather Wells (screen name: H2Bling) of Carlsbad, Calif., must love the Bodog qualifiers since she just won her second WSOP qualifier in less than a year. Not only has Heather recently won a seat to this year's WSOP Main Event, but she also qualified for and played in the inaugural WSOPE in London last year.
While Heather didn't make it out of Day 1 after she took a big hit with an over pair that ran into someone's flopped set, she had a blast in London. That's one of the things that you can count on with Heather, her infectious love of life.
Heather's most recent WSOP seat came, at least partly, as a result of her husband winning his at Bodog. She didn't want him having all the fun in Vegas, so she took several runs at Bodog's WSOP online semifinals until she came out with a seat of her own.
Now, they and their 1-year-old son Jordan are all ready to hit Vegas, take a shot at the multi-million dollar prize pool and more importantly, have a blast.
How long have you been playing poker?
About three years.
Who inspired you to start playing?
My husband.
You and your husband both qualified for the WSOP this year through Bodog. Was that something you were both striving for or did it just happen?
We were trying very hard to both make it. This is Brian's third year having won his seat in Las Vegas and my first! After having played at the WSOPE on my own, we very much so wanted to play together and share the experience.
What was it like to live the Bodog life in London during the WSOPE?
Brian and Heather enjoying the Bodog life.Oh, so amazing! Playing in London was one of the coolest experiences. I will never forget that shopping spree or the way that Bodog treated us. Getting dressed up and playing in that chic, old, fancy London casino, The Fifty, and sitting next to and across from every pro in the world was amazing! There was such a high-class feel to that entire experience. I loved it! Can we do it again? Please?
Tell us about how you won your seat to this year's WSOP.
We were out of town and spent some downtime relaxing in the hotel room playing cards. I wanted so desperately to win my seat so we could indeed go together this year to Vegas and... I did it!! My husband had to ask me repeatedly to quiet down because I was screaming and jumping around all through the hotel. The cops were not called, but the baby cried. I guess he couldn’t quite process my enthusiasm.
What do you think your chances are of winning the WSOP?
I will give it my best! Why not me?? Might as well be...
What would you do if you won?
A return vacation to Positano, Italy would be a great way to spend WSOP winnings.I would take my whole family back to Positano, Italy. It is the most incredible place I have ever been and I would love to go back. And I am sure that my best friend, Lissa, would be waiting in the wings for some serious shopping. Christian Louboutin shoes perhaps??
Would winning the WSOP change your career path?
Oh, those "big mommy bling bucks," as we call them. Those are pretty hard to replace. Ha! I have the best job in the world already staying home, taking care of my family and home, although, I'm sure that my husband would be thrilled because I wouldn't be so damn expensive!
How long have you been playing at Bodog?
About a year and a half.
What brought you and what keeps you there?
I love the sexiness of the site. Bodog is hot - love that! I also like the size of the tournaments. It is kind of fun getting to know the other players and recognizing the people around the table.
Tell us about your favorite poker moment.
There have been many great online moments, but the best have come from sitting around the table with friends. We have had so many hysterical poker nights at home. Taking my husband out of a game is always the most entertaining. You would think that since he taught me to play it would be a compliment. Let me assure you, it is not!
If you were to have a tagline (like Mike "The Mouth" Matusow), what would it be?
It would be "Bling Mommy"! Guaranteed that Bodog logo is going to be blingin' from a mile away!
What single story best defines you and your life?
I have a positive attitude towards just about everything and feel that my life has been a great one from beginning to current, but I would have to say that my life truly got rockin' when I married my husband. He has made our life a dream and I am truly blessed and thankful for the life we share together every day.
How will you spend your time off in Vegas?
Chilling at a great house with my family, going out to some fabulous meals and of course, hitting some hot spots with the hubby and friends!
Have you been to Vegas before? If so, any good stories?
I've been many times, and no, I’m not sharing stories! Don’t you know? That stuff stays in Vegas!
Anything else?
I just can't wait to strut that Bodog logo and have some fun!!
